Summary
This notice sets out the fees payable by persons carrying on fund services business in Jersey for the period 1 January to 31 December 2025. It covers application fees, registration fees, annual fees (based on the number of pools of assets administered), alteration fees, and penalties for late payment or late filing. This notice has since been superseded by a later fees notice.
- Application fee: A fee of £4,606 must accompany an application for registration to carry on fund services business.
- Registration fee: On issue of a registration certificate, a fee (per the attached schedule) is due one month after the certificate date; if issued mid year, the fee is prorated at one twelfth per full or partial month to the next 1 January.
- Annual fee: A registered person on 1 January must pay an annual fee based on the number of pools of assets (excluding unregulated funds) it is registered for, per the schedule; a person acting only for unregulated funds pays the zero pools rate.
- Alteration fee: A fee of £541 applies for alterations such as a change of name, addition/alteration/removal of a licence condition, or removal of a licence class.
- Late payment fee: A late payment fee of 5% of the unpaid principal is charged the day after the due date and again on the first day of each subsequent calendar month until paid.
- Late filing fee: Failure to file or deliver a required document by its due date triggers a £100 fee the next day, plus a further £100 on the first day of each subsequent month while the document remains outstanding, unless the JFSC has agreed in writing to a later filing date.
- Fee schedule: Annual fees range from £7,654 (0 to 1 pools of assets) up to £72,322 (200 or more pools of assets), in tiered bands.
The notice applies to registered persons carrying on fund services business in Jersey and to applicants seeking such registration.
Key obligations
- Applicants for registration to carry on fund services business must pay a £4,606 application fee.
- A registered person must pay the registration certificate fee within one month of the date of the certificate.
- A registered person must pay the applicable annual fee (based on pools of assets) on the due date.
- A registered person applying for an alteration (name change, licence condition change, or licence class removal) must pay a £541 alteration fee.
- A registered person that fails to pay a fee by the due date is liable for a 5% late payment fee, recurring monthly until paid.
- A registered person that fails to file or deliver a required document by its due date is liable for a £100 late filing fee, recurring monthly until the document is filed or a later date is agreed with the JFSC in writing.
