Summary

This notice sets the fees payable by firms of accountants and firms of lawyers registered under Jersey's Supervisory Bodies Law for the 2025 fee year (1 January to 31 December 2025). It explains how firms calculate their relevant employee numbers and sets out the annual fee, application fee, amendment fee, and penalties for late payment or late filing. Note that this notice's status is superseded, so a later fee notice should be checked for current amounts.

  • Annual fee: Sole traders pay a flat £541; all other firms pay a base £2,303 plus £254 per average relevant employee (calculated over the preceding five years), capped at £49,909 in total.
  • Relevant employee calculation: Firms must count relevant employees (including partners, self-employed individuals, overseas-based staff, and vacant posts that would normally be filled) using hourly bandings (0.25 to 1 person) based on average hours worked over the preceding 12 months.
  • Application fee: £221 for a sole trader and £595 for any other person or persons applying to carry on business within scope of the notice, payable at time of application and non-refundable.
  • Amendment fee: £221 (sole trader) or £595 (other registered persons) for applications to change a registered name or alter/remove conditions.
  • Late payment fee: If the annual fee is not paid in full by the due date, a 5% late payment fee on the unpaid amount applies the day after the due date and on the 1st of each subsequent month.
  • Late information / administration fee: A £100 administration fee applies (and recurs monthly) if a firm fails to supply the information needed to calculate its fee by the due date on the form, in addition to any late payment fee once the fee is later calculated.
  • Late filing fee: A registered person who fails to file or deliver any required document by its due date is liable for £100 per complete month or part thereof the document remains outstanding, unless the JFSC has agreed in writing to a later date.
