Statement of Guidance
Validation and verification of the '9.9 Other Information' Sheet (September 2019)
Status not confirmedView on JFSC's website Source document
Summary
This is a technical guidance note explaining the automated validation and verification checks the JFSC runs on the '9.9 Other Information' sheet of the prudential reporting template used by OIBs (overseas incorporated banks). It describes the data entry rules built into the Excel template and the checks the JFSC performs when the template is submitted.
- Monetary amount limits: Cells for monetary amounts accept only whole numbers between -1,000,000,000 and +1,000,000,000 (in units of £1,000), unless otherwise noted, permitting values up to +/- £1 trillion.
- Excel validation is not a failsafe: Built-in Excel checks only trigger on direct manual input, so OIBs must independently check their data before submission.
- Submission-triggered checks: Submitting the template to the JFSC prompts automated checks to run; if all checks pass, the submission is accepted and the OIB is notified, along with any warnings.
- Specific cell validations: Cells C3, C4, C5 and C6 on the '9.9 Other Information' sheet (items OI.1 to OI.4) each require a whole number between 0 and +1,000,000, each with a unique 'Check' identifier referenced in any error message.
The guidance is purely explanatory of the mechanics of the reporting template's validation logic and does not itself create new reporting deadlines or fees.
