Status not confirmedView on JFSC's website Source document
Summary
This is a technical guidance note from the JFSC explaining the validation and verification checks applied to the '9.11 Whole-bank Prudential Data' sheet, which is part of the prudential reporting template submitted by Overseas Islands Banks (OIBs, i.e. Jersey bank branches). It does not create new reporting obligations but describes how the JFSC's system checks data entered on this sheet when the template is submitted.
- Purpose: Sets out the automated checks run when the 9.11 Whole-bank Prudential Data sheet is submitted to the JFSC, including the unique 'Check' identifiers used in error messages.
- Data ranges: Most monetary amount cells (WB.1 to WB.6, WB.10 to WB.17) must be whole numbers between minus 1,000,000,000 and plus 1,000,000,000 (in units of GBP 1,000).
- Wider range items: WB.7, WB.8 and WB.9 amounts must be whole numbers between minus 10,000,000,000 and plus 10,000,000,000.
- Percentage items: WB.18, WB.19 and WB.20 amounts must be entered as percentages between 0 and 100 percent.
- Reliance on JFSC checks: Excel's built in validation is not a failsafe since it only checks direct manual input, so OIBs should verify their own data before submission, as the JFSC will also check it on receipt.
- Submission outcome: If all checks pass, the submission is accepted and the OIB is notified, along with any warnings generated.
