Summary

This guidance note from the JFSC explains changes to the 2025 supervisory risk data collection (SRDC) exercise, which registered and supervised persons must complete to feed the JFSC's risk-based supervisory model and national risk assessments. It sets out the timeline for the next SRDC request, updates to validation processes, and sector-specific changes, plus a preview of future planned changes to related data collections.

  • Submission timeline: The 2025 SRDC will be issued on 2 February 2026 with a 3-month submission window, ending 30 April 2026, later than the 11 April 2025 deadline used for the prior cycle.
  • Data validation: MyJFSC portal validation emails will be amended to reference specific question numbers rather than cell numbers, and new prompts will clarify mandatory questions in the workbook.
  • Sound Business Policy question: The customer activity question is retained but the underlying list of sensitive/reputational activities is streamlined from 11 to 5, reflecting relabelling of the Sound Business Practice Policy.
  • AMLSP supervised persons: Data collection on Schedule 2 supervised persons serviced via an AMLSP continues in the same format as 2024.
  • DNFBP group structures: No further data request on DNFBP group structures is planned for the 2025 SRDC while the JFSC's review of prior data continues.
  • Prescribed NPO data: Annual data collection continues for Prescribed NPOs: TCB administered Prescribed NPOs report via an Excel workbook, independent Prescribed NPOs via an online survey; this does not apply to independent registered NPOs that are not Prescribed NPOs.
  • Fund statistics: Reporting moves from quarterly to annual, with a new annual reporting date of 30 June each year and a submission deadline of 31 July, first due 30 June 2026.
  • JPF Annual Compliance Return: The JFSC is considering integrating JPF ACR confirmations (currently submitted in August) into the SRDC JPF workbook, with a possible 2026 implementation; industry feedback invited.
  • Wire transfer purpose of payment: Purpose of payment data collection is delayed until at least the 2027 SRDC (collected in 2028), pending ISO 20022 rollout.
  • JRA and MONEYVAL items: No additional prudential (JRA) questions or expanded MONEYVAL-related product/activity data will be added for the 2025 SRDC.

Overall this is a guidance/update note rather than a binding rule change, but it fixes concrete dates and formats that reporting entities need to follow for the 2025 SRDC cycle and flags upcoming changes to fund statistics and JPF ACR reporting.

Key obligations

  • Independent Prescribed NPOs must continue to provide data via the JFSC's online survey tool annually.

  • Fund statistics reporters must submit fund statistics data annually as of 30 June each year, with submission due within one month, by 31 July.
