Update to the Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) Registration Application Form (2024-12-12)

Summary

CIMA has issued a notice announcing an update to the application form used to register Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs) via the REEFS portal. The old form, APP 101-84, is being replaced with a new form, APP 101-84-05, effective 13 December 2024. Transition Arrangements

• New applications: Any new VASP registration application submitted on or after 13 December 2024 must use the new APP 101-84-05 form.
• In-progress applications: Applications already in progress as of 13 December 2024 may continue to be completed on the old APP 101-84 form, but only if submitted by 5:00pm on 30 January 2025.
• After the deadline: After 30 January 2025, all applicants—including those with unfinished in-progress applications—must use the new form for any future submissions.

This is an administrative/procedural notice directed at prospective and current VASP applicants and their advisors, not a substantive change to licensing standards. Firms preparing or currently submitting VASP registration applications should check which form version applies to their submission timing and ensure they meet the transition deadline if relying on the old form.
