Current version last checked: 2026-07-11

Summary

This is a public warning statement issued by the Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC) alerting the public that Sky Dove Finance is an unauthorised entity operating a scam. The JFSC states it has never been registered under the Banking Business (Jersey) Law 1991 or the Proceeds of Crime (Supervisory Bodies) (Jersey) Law 2008, yet is falsely claiming a Jersey business address and purporting to carry on deposit-taking and Schedule 2 (deposit acceptance) business.

  • Nature of the scam: Sky Dove Finance falsely claims to trade from an address in St Helier, Jersey, and appears to be carrying on or holding out as carrying on deposit-taking and Schedule 2 business without authorisation.
  • Legal basis for the warning: Any such deposit-taking or Schedule 2 business would contravene Article 8 of the Banking Business (Jersey) Law 1991 and Article 10 of the Proceeds of Crime (Supervisory Bodies) (Jersey) Law 2008.
  • Public guidance: The notice provides general guidance on spotting scams (spelling errors, urgency, unusual payment requests) and protecting oneself (stop, check, protect), and directs the public to verify registration status via the JFSC's registers.
  • Reporting channels: Members of the public who believe they have been targeted are directed to report to the JFSC Enforcement team, the States of Jersey Police, or their bank if a payment has already been made.

This is an informational public statement rather than a rule or regulatory instrument, and it does not impose compliance obligations on licensed or registered entities.
