Summary

This is a public warning notice issued by the Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC) alerting the public that Morocco Street Holdings Limited and Holdings MS (the impersonating entities), operating via a website and email address, are falsely claiming to represent a legitimate Jersey registered company of a similar name and are purporting to carry on investment business and Schedule 2 (portfolio management) business in Jersey without authorisation.

  • Impersonation: The impersonating entities falsely claim to represent Morocco Street Holdings Limited (a legitimate Jersey registered company, No. 123853) and falsely use its registered business address at Oriel House, York Lane, St Helier.
  • Unauthorised activity: They are carrying on, or holding out as carrying on, Investment Business and Schedule 2 business (Portfolio Management) in Jersey without JFSC authorisation, in contravention of Article 7 of the Financial Services (Jersey) Law 1998 and Article 10 of the Proceeds of Crime (Supervisory Bodies) (Jersey) Law 2008.
  • No association: The JFSC confirms the impersonating entities, website and email address have no connection to the legitimate Morocco Street Holdings Limited or its service provider, Verite Secretaries Limited, and have never been registered under the FS(J)L or the Supervisory Bodies Law.
  • Public guidance: The notice sets out how to spot scams, how to protect oneself (Stop, Check, Protect), how to verify a firm's regulated status via the JFSC registers, and how to report suspected fraud to the States of Jersey Police, one's bank, or the JFSC's Enforcement Division.
