Current version last checked: 2026-07-11

Summary

This is a public warning statement issued by the Jersey Financial Services Commission under Article 25(d) of the Financial Services (Jersey) Law 1998. It alerts the public that an entity calling itself Kurt Berlo, operating via the website kurtberlo.com and falsely claiming an address at 40 Don Street, St Helier, is not authorised to conduct investment business in Jersey and has no connection to a legitimate, separately registered Belgian financial services provider of the same name.

  • Nature of warning: The Impersonating Entity has never been registered or applied for registration under the FS(J)L, and any investment business it carries out breaches Article 7 of the FS(J)L.
  • No connection to legitimate provider: The Impersonating Entity and its website are unrelated to Kurt Berlo, a legitimate Belgian registered financial services provider based in Affligem, Belgium.
  • Fraud risk: The JFSC states that documentation it holds shows warning signs that the Impersonating Entity and website were set up for fraudulent purposes.
  • Action requested: Anyone who has had dealings with the Impersonating Entity is asked to contact the JFSC's Enforcement team.

This is an informational public statement rather than a rule or requirement directed at regulated entities; it does not impose ongoing compliance obligations on Jersey-regulated businesses, but serves as a caution to the public and industry against dealing with this unauthorised entity.
