Issued 2015-07-28View on JFSC's website Source document
Summary
This is a public warning statement issued by the Jersey Financial Services Commission under Article 25(d) of the Financial Services (Jersey) Law 1998, alerting investors and the public that Bradquest Ltd is not authorised to conduct financial services business in Jersey.
- Unauthorised activity: Bradquest has never been registered or applied for registration under the Financial Services Law; any financial services business it has carried out since 1 July 1999 breaches Article 7 of that Law.
- False association: Bradquest is not connected to European Insurance Brokers Limited, a genuine Commission-authorised provider, despite appearing to use that firm's website content.
- Fraud warning: The Commission states that documentation held suggests Bradquest and its website display warning signs of being set up for a fraudulent purpose.
- Call for information: Anyone who has dealt with Bradquest is asked to contact the Commission (Barry Faudemer).
This is an informational warning notice rather than a rule imposing ongoing compliance duties on regulated firms; it is aimed at protecting the public from an unauthorised and potentially fraudulent operator.
Applies to
unauthorised financial services providers, members of the public and investors
