Summary
This is a public statement issued by the Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC) under Article 25(d) of the Financial Services (Jersey) Law 1998, warning the public about an entity calling itself Bernd Franz Fr\u00f6hler (the Impersonating Entity) that is falsely claiming to conduct investment business from Jersey via a website and email address.
- No authorisation: The Impersonating Entity has never been registered or applied for registration under the Financial Services (Jersey) Law 1998, and any investment business it carries out is in breach of Article 7 of that Law.
- No connection to real firm: The Impersonating Entity, its website and email address are not connected to the formerly registered legitimate financial services provider of the same name that operated in Austria and the Netherlands.
- False Jersey address: The Impersonating Entity falsely claims to trade from an address at Liberation Station, St Helier, Jersey.
- Fraud warning signs: The JFSC states that documentation held shows the Impersonating Entity, website and email address display warning signs of being set up for fraudulent purposes.
The statement asks anyone who has had dealings with the Impersonating Entity to contact the JFSC's Enforcement team, and reminds the public that all genuinely regulated businesses in Jersey are listed on the JFSC website.
