Summary

This is a JFSC supplementary application form for existing Category A general insurance permit holders in Jersey who wish to add Class 10 Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance to their permitted classes of business. Because motor vehicle liability insurance is also regulated under separate road traffic legislation, the form is used to gather information that the JFSC will pass to the Minister for Transport and Technical Services, whose consent is required in addition to JFSC authorisation.

• Consent to share and publish information: The applicant must expressly authorise the JFSC to forward the application and supporting documents to the Minister and to publish the name and address of the company's Power of Attorney on the JFSC's public register of regulated entities.
• Consequences of refusal: If the Minister does not approve the motor vehicle liability insurance element, the JFSC may be unable to authorise Class 10 business, although a permit for other general insurance classes applied for at the same time may still be granted.

The form itself sets no fixed filing deadline; it is a supporting document to be completed and returned with the required evidence whenever an existing Category A permit holder seeks to add this class of business, sent to the JFSC (which liaises with the Department for Transport and Technical Services).

Key obligations
