Summary
This is the JFSC's feedback paper on its August 2025 consultation (Consultation Paper No. 6 2025) on proposed regulatory fees for 2026. It summarises industry responses, confirms a 2.5% general fee increase (with some exceptions), and publishes the final 2026 JFSC Fees Notice as an appendix. The confirmed fees take effect from 1 January 2026.
- General increase: A 2.5% increase applies across most fee categories from 1 January 2026, with specific carve-outs (e.g. annual confirmation fees for ordinarily administered entities will not increase).
- AIF annual fee dropped: The proposed new annual fee for Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs, not also JPFs or CIFs) will not be implemented; fees revert to the previous (2025, plus 2.5% uplift) application fee structure.
- Local lenders: Following a legislative change designating certain domestic lenders as low-risk 'local lenders', these entities will pay no annual fee in 2026 and a reduced application fee of £555 (£205 for sole traders).
- GP/LP streamlining: Schedule 2 general partners acting for a single limited partnership will use a single application form and receive a single registration certificate, with unified application and annual fees reduced by 25% versus the previously proposed 2026 separate fees; both entities remain separately registered persons subject to AML/CFT obligations.
- Other confirmed changes: New flat change-of-control fees for investment business and trust company business based on business class, pro-rating of first-year money service business and Class S GIMB annual fees, new mergers/demergers fee of £500 for Jersey-incorporated companies, and new continuance fees of £1,200 (leaving Jersey) and £700 (moving to Jersey).
The appendix sets out the full 2026 JFSC Fees Notice covering Registry fees (incorporation, continuance, annual confirmation, post-registration, name/status changes, mergers) and Regulated entity fees across all licensed and Schedule 2 sectors, effective 1 January to 31 December 2026.
Key obligations
- Registered entities must submit their annual confirmation statement and pay the applicable fee by the end of February each year, or incur escalating late fees on a monthly sliding scale.
- Entities must notify the JFSC Registry of changes, errors or inaccuracies in significant person or beneficial owner information, or notify a new nominated person, within 21 days, or a late fee of £100 per month (capped at £600) applies.
- Companies must submit special resolutions or agreements to the Registry within 21 days of the effective date, or incur late fees.
- General partners and limited partnerships carrying out Schedule 2 activity as a business in or from Jersey must register with the JFSC, now via a single application form for GP/LP pairs, and both remain subject to AML/CFT/CFPF Handbook obligations.
- Local lenders applying for registration must pay the application fee of £555 (or £205 for sole traders) but are not charged an annual fee for 2026.
