No.16 Insider Dealing (Securities and Regulated Markets) (Amendment) Order, 2000

Guernsey Financial Services Commission (GFSC) · Guernsey

Amends Insider Dealing (Securities and Regulated Markets) Order, 1996 (Consolidated text)

Current version last checked: 2026-07-12

Summary

This 2000 Order amends the Insider Dealing (Securities and Regulated Markets) Order, 1996 under the Company Securities (Insider Dealing) (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 1996. It updates the definition of 'regulated markets' for insider dealing purposes and expands the Schedule of investment exchanges on which insider dealing is prohibited.

  • Definition change: Section 9 of the 1996 Order is replaced to clarify that regulated markets are those established under the rules of an investment exchange listed in the Schedule, and that a name change alone does not remove an exchange from that list.
  • New exchanges added: Adds Euro.NM Amsterdam, Euro.NM Belgium, Channel Islands Stock Exchange LBG, EASDAQ, the Neuer Markt in Frankfurt, and the Nuovo Mercato in Milan to the Schedule of regulated markets.
  • Catch all provision: Adds a new entry covering any exchange that is an ordinary, associate or affiliate member of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO).
  • Correction: Amends the existing Schedule entry for the 'Nouveau Marche' to specify 'the Nouveau Marche in Paris'.

The practical effect is to widen the set of exchanges on which insider dealing is legally prohibited in the Bailiwick of Guernsey, keeping the list of regulated markets current. The Order does not impose new filing, reporting or licensing obligations on any category of licensee.

Applies to

investment exchanges, persons dealing in securities on regulated markets
