Summary

This regulation amends the Securities Investment Business (Registration and Deregistration) Regulations, 2019 by replacing the fee provision (regulation 9) with a new fee structure for persons registered under the Securities Investment Business Act.

  • Registration fee: An applicant for registration as a registered person under the Securities Investment Business Act must pay a registration fee of six thousand dollars (CI$6,000) to the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority.
  • Annual fee: A registered person must pay an annual fee of six thousand dollars (CI$6,000) to the Authority.
  • Commencement: The amendment takes effect immediately after the Securities Investment Business (Amendment and Validation) Act, 2024 comes into force, rather than on a fixed calendar date.

The amendment does not alter registration or deregistration procedures themselves, only the fees payable for registration and ongoing annual maintenance as a registered person.
