Beneficial Ownership Transparency (Legitimate Interest Access) (Amendment) Regulations, 2026

The practical effect falls on persons or entities, such as competent authorities, professionals, or others with a legitimate interest, who submit applications for access to beneficial ownership information via the search platform; they will now pay higher fees, and a new higher flat fee applies for bulk or multiple applications within a year. Regulated entities holding beneficial ownership information are not directly targeted by this amendment; it affects the fee structure for the access-application process itself.

Key obligations

• Applicants for legitimate interest access to beneficial ownership information on the search platform must pay a fee of seventy-five dollars (increased from thirty dollars) for the relevant administrative service under regulation 4(2)(b)(iii)(A).
• Applicants seeking multiple applications within a one-year period in relation to any number of legal persons must pay a fee of two hundred and fifty dollars for administrative services in respect of that application.
