Strix XBRL Overview for Form Fillers (FTS02-38 Rev0)

Summary

This is a CIMA user guide explaining how regulated ("obliged") entities and their form fillers can optionally use XBRL (eXtensible Business Reporting Language) to populate CIMA's Strix survey platform, which is used for surveys such as AML/CFT questionnaires.

Because it is a 'how-to' operational guide rather than a rule or notice creating new regulatory requirements, it does not itself impose new compliance obligations beyond the mechanics of correctly using the optional XBRL upload feature within an existing survey obligation (which is presumably established elsewhere, e.g. in the relevant survey's own instructions or a separate regulatory requirement to complete the DCM survey).

Key obligations

• Where an XBRL instance file is used, any data validation conflicts flagged by Strix must be resolved before the survey can be submitted.
• Form fillers using XBRL must still log into the Strix portal to complete any remaining qualitative questions and the Signatories section, since XBRL cannot capture these or attachments.
• The submit button must be clicked to finalise submission once all required questions (whether populated via XBRL or manually) have been answered.
• It is the responsibility of the reporting entity to source or use an appropriate XBRL solution/back-office software capable of generating a compliant instance file if it chooses to use XBRL.
