Summary

This UK Order in Council revokes the sanctions regimes previously imposed on Côte d'Ivoire and Liberia across a list of Overseas Territories, including the Cayman Islands and the Virgin Islands. • Revokes: The Liberia (Sanctions) (Overseas Territories) Order 2015 (S.I. 2015/1899)
• Reason: UN Security Council resolutions of 28 April 2016 (Côte d'Ivoire) and 25 May 2016 (Liberia) terminated the underlying sanctions measures
• Territorial extent: Applies to Anguilla, British Antarctic Territory, British Indian Ocean Territory, Cayman Islands, Falkland Islands, Montserrat, Pitcairn/Henderson/Ducie/Oeno Islands, St Helena/Ascension/Tristan da Cunha, South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands, Sovereign Base Areas of Akrotiri and Dhekelia, Turks and Caicos Islands, and the Virgin Islands

There is no continuing compliance action required; the effect is purely to remove the prior sanctions orders from force in the listed territories as of the commencement date.
