Summary

This Order amends Schedule 1 (the fee schedule) of the BVI Business Companies Act, Revised Edition 2020, to introduce and set fees for services connected to the Register of Beneficial Ownership. It was made by the Cabinet on the advice of the Financial Services Commission and gazetted on 1 July 2025.

  • Inspection or copy of an entry: A fee of $75 applies for a request to inspect or receive a copy of an entry in the Register of Beneficial Ownership for one legal entity.
  • Notice of objection: No fee ($0) for filing a notice of objection.
  • Application opposing disclosure: No fee ($0) for an application opposing disclosure of beneficial ownership information.
  • Notice of intent to appeal: No fee ($0) for filing a notice of intent to appeal.
  • Exemption application: A fee of $50 applies for an application for an exemption from disclosure of beneficial ownership information.
  • Exemption renewal: A fee of $50 applies for an application to renew an exemption from disclosure of beneficial ownership information.
  • Certified copy under section 233: A new $75 fee is added for a certified copy of an entry in the Register of Beneficial Ownership, inserted alongside existing certified copy fees for registers of members or directors.

The Order does not take effect on a fixed calendar date; instead it comes into force on the same date that the BVI Business Companies and Limited Partnerships (Beneficial Ownership) (Amendment) Regulations, 2025 come into force.
