Notice (S.I. No. 64 of 2025) Commencing the BVI Business Companies and Limited Partnerships (Beneficial Ownership) (Amendment) Regulations, 2025 (2025-07-01)

Summary

This is a short commencement notice, not a substantive rule. It records that the Minister responsible for Financial Services has fixed 1 July 2025 as the date on which the BVI Business Companies and Limited Partnerships (Beneficial Ownership) (Amendment) Regulations, 2025 (S.I. No. 63 of 2025) come into force.

• What it does: Formally appoints 1 July 2025 as the commencement date for S.I. No. 63 of 2025 under the power in regulation 1(2) of those Regulations.
• What it does not do: It does not itself set out the substantive beneficial ownership requirements; those are contained in the separate Amendment Regulations (S.I. No. 63 of 2025) which this notice brings into force.

Compliance officers should consult the underlying BVI Business Companies and Limited Partnerships (Beneficial Ownership) (Amendment) Regulations, 2025 for the actual changes to beneficial ownership obligations, which are now in effect as of 1 July 2025.
