Advisory Warning No. 18 of 2015 TradeFXA Limited (31 December 2015)

Summary

This is a public investor alert issued by the BVI Financial Services Commission warning that an entity calling itself TradeFXA Limited has been falsely claiming to be incorporated, licensed and regulated in the British Virgin Islands while offering forex, commodities, indices and investment brokerage services.

• Fake licence: TradeFXA's website displayed a reproduction of investment business licence certificate no. SIBA/L/12/1027, purportedly issued to it by the FSC on 5 September 2012.
• FSC findings: TradeFXA Limited has never been incorporated or registered in the BVI and has never been licensed by the FSC to conduct financial services business.
• True licence holder unaffiliated: The actual holder of licence no. SIBA/L/12/1027 has no connection to TradeFXA Limited or its website tradefxa.com.
• Legal basis: The warning is issued under Section 4(1)(l) of the Financial Services Commission Act, 2001.

The FSC advises the public to exercise extreme caution if approached by this entity or shown the altered licence certificate, and invites the public to report information about TradeFXA Limited or other questionable entities purporting to operate in or from the BVI.
