Status not confirmedView on BMA's website Source document
Summary
This is a technical user manual issued by the Bermuda Monetary Authority explaining how to complete and electronically submit the Bermuda Solvency Capital Requirement (BSCR) Form. It covers the software environment, Excel macro settings, and the step by step process for filling in, validating, attaching documents to, and submitting the BSCR return, plus troubleshooting for common technical errors.
- Scope: Applies to Insurance Groups and Class 3A, 3B, 4, C, D and E (re)insurers required to file a Capital and Solvency Return.
- Technical setup: Users must use Microsoft Excel 2003, 2007 or 2010, enable macros at the required security level, and have an internet connection to reach the BMA server.
- Filing steps: Download the BSCR Form, select reporting units, select the class of business, input data only in white cells, attach supporting files via the Attachments sheet, validate, then submit via the Submission sheet.
- Attachments: Up to 20 files per category may be attached, limited to PDF, Word and Excel file types, each with an explanatory comment.
- Validation and submission: Data must be validated before submission; submission is only processed if validation passes or comments are provided explaining uncorrected errors. A filing number and confirmation email are generated on successful submission.
The manual itself does not set filing deadlines or fees; it is a procedural guide referencing the separate BSCR 2013 Instruction Handbook for substantive content requirements.
